This commemorative watch celebrating the 50th anniversary pays tribute to the “Silver Snoopy Award” that OMEGA received from NASA astronauts in 1970, recognising the brand’s contributions to space exploration, including the Apollo 13 mission.
The 42 mm stainless steel case is presented with a blue nylon strap featuring the Apollo 13 mission trajectory embossed on the lining. The silver dial has hour markers and angular blue PVD hands, along with a silver Snoopy medallion embossed on the blue subdial at 9 o’clock.
On the caseback with NAIAD LOCK, a view of the Moon’s far side is decorated on the sapphire crystal using a micro-structured metallisation process. An animated Snoopy in his Command and Service Module (CSM) appears on a “magic hand” that rotates when the chronograph is activated. Behind him, a rotating Earth disc completes one revolution per minute, synchronised with the small seconds hand.
In addition to the black engravings on the caseback paying tribute to the Apollo 13 mission and the OMEGA Silver Snoopy Award, the watch features a blue ceramic [ZrO2] bezel with a white enamel tachymeter scale. This non-limited edition watch is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 3861 and comes in a special presentation box.

THE SPEEDMASTER “SILVER SNOOPY AWARD“ 50TH ANNIVERSARY
In 1970, OMEGA received the prestigious “Silver Snoopy Award” from NASA astronauts. The award recognised OMEGA’s unique contributions to space exploration, as well as the Speedmaster’s role in saving Apollo 13. Now, 50 years later, a special watch has been created to celebrate the occasion.

SNOOPY IN ORBIT
On the caseback, Snoopy appears in the Service Module (CSM) as a magic hand. When the chronograph is activated, he travels towards the Moon, decorated on the sapphire crystal. An Earth disc also rotates once per minute, synchronised with the small seconds hand. The iconic quote “Eyes on the Stars” appears in the black universe on the caseback.
THE COMIC LEGACY
For more than half a century, Snoopy has been NASA’s “safety watchdog”. In addition to representing mission success, he also brings levity to serious situations. Since 1968, the Silver Snoopy Award has been given to individuals or companies who contributed significantly to the success of crewed space missions.
Commander Thomas Stafford touches Snoopy’s nose for luck before the Apollo 10 mission.
“I took two OMEGAs into space. One with mission elapsed time and the other with Houston time.”
