What is a chronometer?

A chronometer is a certified, high-precision timepiece that meets the strict standards of the C.O.S.C. (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres).

Each movement is tested for 15 days in five positions and at three different temperatures under demanding conditions. To be certified as a chronometer, a mechanical movement must comply with the seven criteria defined by ISO 3159. Regardless of external conditions, it must maintain an accuracy of between −4 and +6 seconds per day.
